It is with great passion that we share our vision and strategy of Training and Development within The AVI Institute. The AVI Institute is a result of our commitment to team members and customers of AVI. We believe that people come first and foremost with the fresh food to follow.
We believe that by fostering and developing our people, we can bring out the best qualities in them. They are what drive our decisions to invest in our people and train them to be the best they can be.
AVI training programs are performed by skilled and experienced trainers under our training umbrella; The AVI Institute. Training modules include “My Location,” “My Company” and “My Career” training. Within these training modules are segments concentrating on Customer Service, Service Recovery, Culinary Skills, as well as Food and Physical Safety.
“My” training allows each team member to connect with the program on a personal level. Given that our training is not “cookie cutter,” we spend as much time as necessary learning about how the account is operated. We take time to tour the account, interview the management team and discuss any challenges the account may be facing prior to conducting training.
Each month, a new hospitality topic is introduced and implemented throughout the organization. Team members are encouraged to bring thought-provoking stories and personal experiences to share during huddles with their peers. Topics include “Small Gestures, Big Impact,” “The Eyes Have It,” and “Make Their Day,” designed to reinforce the hospitality theme by providing insight into other cultures and unique perspectives.
